19 of Jersey’s finest athletes are on the programme, and this year we will also support coaches

In 2025, Jersey Sport is once again backing the island’s top sporting talent through its Performance Sport Programme, with renewed funding secured to continue supporting the island’s brightest athletes. Now in its second year, the programme continues to provide both financial grants and access to a world-class, multi-disciplinary support package, helping athletes unlock their full potential.

We’re proud to have been chosen once again as the nutrition service provider, ensuring athletes receive the very best in sport-specific nutritional support to train harder, recover faster, and perform at their peak.

Why Nutrition Remains a Cornerstone of Performance

Whether it’s endurance sports like triathlon and cycling, power-based disciplines such as athletics and judo, or team sports requiring consistent intensity, nutrition underpins every aspect of performance. From energy availability and recovery to strength, focus, and resilience, fuelling strategies can make the difference between good and great.

That’s why the programme doesn’t just provide financial help, it delivers a holistic, evidence-based approach where nutrition is a key performance pillar.

Tailored Support for Every Athlete

Each athlete in the 2025 cohort benefits from:

  • Individual consultations to create tailored fuelling plans

  • Competition-day strategies for peak performance

  • Hydration and recovery protocols to aid adaptation and reduce fatigue

  • Supplement education with anti-doping compliance front of mind

Our role is not just to provide fuel, but to equip athletes with the confidence and knowledge to make smart nutrition choices that last throughout their sporting careers.

This year, we continue to deliver sessions on key areas such as:

  • Daily fuelling for energy balance and consistency

  • Race and competition nutrition planning

  • Recovery, sleep, and long-term health support

  • Supplement use and safe practices

The goal is simple: to ensure every athlete has the knowledge, confidence, and habits to thrive in high-performance sport, both now and in the years ahead.

The Performance Sport Programme is much more than a grant scheme, it’s about building a sustainable pathway for local talent. Working alongside coaches, physiotherapists, psychologists, S&C coaches, and media trainers, we’re proud to contribute nutrition expertise within this collaborative environment.

With funding renewed for 2025, Jersey’s athletes can continue to dream bigger, train harder, and compete stronger, knowing they have the right fuel to go the distance.
