Jersey Sport workshop success

True Food recently delivered an engaging and insightful “Fuelling Performance: Nutrition Essentials for Coaches” workshop in collaboration with Jersey Sport, equipping local coaches with the tools and confidence to better support their athletes’ nutritional needs.

The workshop was held at Strive

The interactive session explored the core principles of sports nutrition, helping coaches understand how fuelling and recovery strategies can make a real difference to training quality, performance, and long-term athlete development.

Participants gained practical insight into:

  • The fundamentals of energy balance and macronutrients for sport

  • Timing of meals and snacks around training and competition

  • Hydration and recovery strategies

  • How to recognise when to refer athletes to a qualified nutritionist

The session also encouraged valuable discussion among coaches from a range of sports, fostering collaboration and shared learning within Jersey’s sporting community.

Jersey Sport’s partnership with True Food continues to strengthen the support available to the island’s performance pathway, ensuring athletes have access to evidence-based guidance and that coaches feel empowered to reinforce positive habits in training environments.
