Eyecan charity teams up with True Food

EYECAN Partners with Kit Chamier to Promote Eye Health Through Nutrition

EYECAN, a charity dedicated to supporting islanders with sight loss, has teamed up with local nutritionist Kit Chamier to raise awareness about the crucial role nutrition plays in maintaining and protecting eye health.

Through this partnership, Kit Chamier has helped guide EYECAN’s community on how to incorporate eye-healthy foods into their daily diets. Key nutrients such as Vitamin A, lutein, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins C and E are essential for eye health and can be found in foods like carrots, leafy greens, fish, and citrus fruits.

By focusing on proper nutrition, EYECAN aims to empower islanders to take charge of their eye health. The charity is also encouraging a holistic approach, promoting physical activity alongside healthy eating through initiatives like Jersey Sport’s Move More program.

Kit’s expert advice has helped provide accessible resources and easy-to-follow recipes to support long-term vision health, ensuring those living with sight loss can enjoy a healthier, more independent life.
