Why does Kit always go back to Oxford?
“For the past ten years, I’ve had the privilege of returning to Oxford Brookes University to deliver a lecture to the latest MSc cohort. And honestly? It’s one of the highlights of my calendar.
What started as a nerve-wracking invitation a decade ago has become a tradition I cherish. The nerves have dissipated and in their place is excitement (the good kind!) driven by the energy of a new group of students each year, all eager to step into the world of sport and performance nutrition. Each trip is more than just a talk. It’s a chance to revisit a city that feels both historic and familiar.
The 2026 invitation has already landed, and I’m genuinely looking forward to it. It means another year of contributing (in my own small way) to the next generation of practitioners, and another excuse to return to a place that keeps pulling me back for all the right reasons.
A huge thank you, as always, to the ever-supportive Charles Simpson for trusting me with this opportunity year after year. Good times ahead and long may the tradition continue.”
